Jason
C. Gish
Jason Gish concentrates his practice on business, technology
transactions and intellectual property matters. Mr. Gish has
broad based experience as a business and intellectual property
attorney representing a variety of technology companies. He
counsels clients on a wide range of legal matters including
technology transfer and licensing agreements, product and
service purchase and sale agreements, intellectual property
strategies and general business transactions. He has experience
counseling clients in the fields of medical devices, manufacturing,
software, Internet, computer hardware and biotechnology.
Prior to forming TLG Law Group LLC, Mr. Gish practiced at
Foley Hoag LLP and Wilmer Hale LLP, both in Boston, MA. He
also clerked for the Honorable Alvin A. Schall of the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Prior to attending
law school, he completed General Electric’s two–year management
program.
Technology Transfer & Licensing. Mr. Gish drafts and
negotiates transfers and licenses of technology and intellectual
property rights, including technology development agreements,
joint venture transactions, collaboration agreements, OEM
agreements, distribution agreements, patent licenses, software
licenses, university licenses, on-line contracts and a variety
of similar transactions. Mr. Gish participated in the creation
and ongoing management of Foley Hoag LLP's Technology Transfer
& Licensing Practice Group.
General Corporate. Mr. Gish counsels businesses on
an ongoing basis with respect to general corporate matters.
He drafts and negotiates asset and stock purchase agreements,
product and service purchase and sale agreements, venture
capital investment agreements, employment agreements, confidentiality
agreements and a variety of other business agreements. He
acts as outside general counsel for businesses, advising on
both intellectual property and business matters.
Intellectual Property & Patent. Mr. Gish advises on
intellectual property matters, including patent, copyright,
trademark, and trade secret matters. He develops global patent
prosecution strategies and prosecutes patents in the electro-mechanical
arts. He drafts patent non-infringement and invalidity opinions.
Education. Mr. Gish received his B.S. degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Bucknell University, cum laude, in 1991.
He received his J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania
Law School, cum laude, in 1996.
Bar & Court Admissions. Mr. Gish is admitted to practice
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the District of Columbia
and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal
Circuit and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Professional Involvement. Mr. Gish is Co-chair of
the Boston Bar Association's Intellectual Property Law
Committee. He is a member of
the Boston Bar Association, Licensing Executive Society, Boston
Patent Law Association, and Federal Circuit Bar Association. He is also a member of the faculty
for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Distribution
& Sales Agreements Seminar.
